Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park & Gorilla Trekking
Very early in the morning, have breakfast and start traveling to Volcanoes national park so as to catch up with the gorilla trekking briefing at 7am at the park headquarters. On briefing, be divided into groups of eight trekkers, the maximum number of tourists to visit a gorilla family in a day.
Gorilla trekking in this park takes you the thick forest on the lower slopes of Mountain Karisimbi, Huye or Bisoke, depending on the gorilla family you are trekking. You will walk through thick trails, having to dodge thorny trees and paving your way out. On meeting the gorilla family, spend one magical hour in the presence of the impressive apes. Nothing thrills like watching a dominant silverback directly in its red eyes as it watches over it family members. It’s an experience you will never forget. After the magical hour, slope back to the park headquarters and to the lodge for check in and relaxation as you wait for dinner and overnight.

Hike through the rugged terrain of the mountain, walking through slippery trails and avoiding thorny trees. At the top you will have stunning views of the Virunga ranges, the magnificent green lush as well as the neighboring towns. In the afternoon you will have lunch and travel back to Kigali for your ongoing fligts.
