The two days Rwanda gorilla trekking are one of the shortest trips in Rwanda that take you to the endangered mountain gorillas in the forest. The two days will specifically take you to Volcanoes national park; Rwanda’s most visited national park because of the hundreds of the endangered apes that call it a home. The trip allows you trek the gorillas in their natural habitats.
Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park Rwanda
Upon arrival at the airport in Kigali, be received by our knowledgeable driver guide who will brief you about the whole trip as he transfers you to Volcanoes national park. Depending on your time of arrival, drive through Kigali capital city at your pace. The journey to Volcanoes national park gives you stunning and clear views of the Virunga ranges and the thousand hills of Rwanda. Arrival at the park will be in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Departure
Early morning after breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for a simple orientation about gorilla trekking by the local ranger guide. Be divided into groups of eight trekkers to visit a single gorilla family per day.
Now enter into the forest to hunt out for the endangered apes in the forest. Gorilla trekking in volcanoes national park involves hiking through the lower slopes of Karisimbi or Bisoke mountains, walking through slippery tails and in unclearly paved trails, having to pave them with a hand stick or your own hand.
After trekking through the forest, meet these impressive apes and watch them for an hour. See how the silverback aggressively watches over its family, juveniles jumping from one tree branch to the other and female gorillas taking care of their babies. You can take several pictures as you want provided the camera has no flash.
After an hour elapsing, slope back to the headquarters and to the lodge for lunch and check out. Travel back to Kigali, straight to the airport for your flight back home.
