The six days Bwindi and Kidepo take you to some of Uganda’s furthest and remote beautiful national parks. Visit Bwindi impenetrable forest national park, the paramount home of 700 mountain gorillas in Africa. From here you will fly to Kidepo valley national park for some of the world’s most beautiful wildlife species in this true African wilderness.
Day 1: Fly to Bwindi & Afternoon Batwa Community Tour
Be welcomed at the airport by our experienced driver guide, or be picked from the hotel you spent the previous night. Be transferred to the airstrip in Kajjansi for your scheduled flight to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. Arriving at the lodge will take about two hours from set off at the airstrip, just to check in and have some refreshments and lunch. In the afternoon you will have a community visit to the Batwa. These were the first inhabitants of the impenetrable forest, and this visit will help you understand how they used to hunt, gather fruits and carry on their lives while in the forest.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
On this day, you will trek the gorillas in their natural habitats. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi starts very early in the morning at 8am with a simple gorilla trekking briefing by the local park ranger at the park headquarters. At the station, be divided into groups of eight trekkers to visit a single gorilla family. Walk into the forest, avoiding thorny trees as you hunt out for the mighty apes. On meeting them, experience the magical hour in the presence of the apes, watching the dominant silverback aggressively watching over his troop, others feeding and playing on tree branches. The experience is worth.
Day 3: Fly to Kidepo Valley National Park
Early morning, have breakfast and check out of the lodge and set for the flight to Kidepo valley national park, the only true African wilderness, Uganda’s most remote national park, with the most beautiful landscape covered with extensive savannah grasslands and domed mountains in the background. Arrival will be in the afternoon for lunch and just relaxing off from the long flight from Bwindi to Kidepo.
Day 4: Full day game drive in Kidepo
On this day, you will have a full day game drive in Kidepo valley national park. This park offers the best game drive experiences in Uganda. Game drives here immediately expose you to some of the world’s most beautiful wildlife species like the lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs, waterbucks, giraffes, zebras and many others. Lunch will be in the wild and returning to the lodge will be in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Hike Mount Morungule & Visit Karamojong People
On this day you will visit one of the most remote tribes in Africa, the IK people. Meeting the IK people involves a hike top of Mountain Morungole. The hike rewards you with spectacular scenic views of the Kidepo valley national park and the amazing landscape. This experiential, cultural visit to the Ik People is an all-day hike up the Mountains that are near to Kidepo Valley Park. Meet these amazing people, see their way of life and how they carry on their daily lives. In the evening return to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight.
Day 6: Fly back to Entebbe
Early morning, have breakfast and check out of the lodge and fly back to Entebbe, to either the airport or to the hotel of your choice.
