Detailed 6-Day Bwindi Gorilla Trek & Serengeti Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Hotel

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, your guide will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel for an overnight stay and relaxation after your flight.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Bwindi National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a short tour of Kigali city. You will visit Kimironko Market, the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, and meet local people. Have lunch at a local restaurant to taste Rwandan dishes, then continue your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to hundreds of endangered mountain gorillas.

Arrive in the evening, check in at your luxury Uganda lodge, have dinner, and stay overnight.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Visit

After an early breakfast, go to the park visitor center for a briefing about gorilla trekking. You will be placed in a group of eight people, which is the maximum number allowed to visit one gorilla family each day.

Your guide will lead you through the forest to find the gorillas. Once you find them, you will spend one hour in their presence, watching them as they feed, play, and move around. You may take as many photos as you like as long as your camera has no flash.

After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, visit the Batwa community to learn about their traditional lifestyle, including their medicine, food, crafts, and farming methods. You will also see how tourism has helped the Batwa build new livelihoods after leaving the forest. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Travel Back to Kigali, Fly to Arusha, and Transfer to Serengeti

After breakfast, drive back to Kigali International Airport for your flight to Arusha in Tanzania. Upon arrival, your guide will transfer you to Serengeti National Park, one of the most famous wildlife reserves in the world. The park is known for its open grasslands, the Big Five, and the great wildebeest migration.

Arrive in the evening, check in at your lodge, have dinner, and rest overnight.

Day 5: Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, pack your picnic lunch and head out for a full-day game drive in Serengeti National Park. The park is rich with wildlife, and you will have the chance to see lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, gazelles, wildebeests, and many other species.

In the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Departure

After breakfast, drive back to Arusha for your flight home. This marks the end of your 6-day Bwindi Gorilla Trek and Serengeti Luxury Safari.
