Uganda being a primate’s country, the five days gorillas and Chimps safari take you to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park for gorilla trekking. Then it takes you to Kibale forest national park, the primate capital of the world, with more than 1000 primates calling it a home, for chimpanzee tracking. Both experiences take you so close to these impressive animals.
Day 1: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Upon arrival at the airport, our experienced driver guide will welcome. Or you will be picked from the hotel where you spent the night the previous day. The guide will brief you about the whole trip movements and then transfer you to the airstrip in Entebbe for your chartered or scheduled flight to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Batwa Community Visit
In the morning after breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a simple orientation about gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi takes about one to six hours of walking in the tropical forest, searching for the endangered apes, it depends on the movement of the apes and the luck of the trekkers. You will spend one full hour with the gorillas, just watching them as they carry on their normal lives. You are free to take all the pictures that you would want as long as the camera doesn’t flash.
You will spend the evening in the Batwa community, meeting with these ancient forest people, tasting their local cuisines as well as enjoying the traditional performances.
Day 3: Drive to Kibale Forest National Park
Early morning have breakfast and start the journey to Kibale forest national park, the primate capital of the world. It’s a home to more than 1000 primates including man’s nearest cousins in the wild. You will have en-route lunch and arrival at the lodge in Kibale will be in the evening to just check in, have dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Swamp Walk
After a delicious breakfast, we shall go to the park headquarters for briefing on what to do and not and what to have and not. Then we shall start trekking our near cousins in the jungle. The trek is simply unpredictable whether it will take a full day or one hour, however the movements are extremely amazing, following the chimps at challenging speeds as well as spotting other primates and bird species plus butterflies.
After lunch we shall have a community walk in Bigodi to experience the way of life of the local people around. Have an interaction with the local people, buy hand crafted souvenirs to carry back home. Simply have a chance to see the world through the eyes of the local people.
Day 5: Fly back to Entebbe
In the morning, have breakfast and fly back to Entebbe. The driver waiting for you at the airstrip will drive you to either the airport or any hotel of your choice. That will be the end of the trip.
