Detailed 4-Day Fly-In Bwindi Gorilla Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Batwa Community Visit
You will be picked up from the airport or your hotel and transferred to Kajjansi Airstrip. Take a chartered or scheduled flight to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The flight takes about one and a half hours. Upon arrival at Kihihi Airstrip, you will be transferred to your luxury Uganda lodge for check-in, refreshments, and lunch.
In the afternoon, visit the Batwa community for a cultural experience with the forest people. This visit gives you a chance to learn how the Batwa used to live in the forest before they were resettled outside the park. You will enjoy traditional dances, music, and local Batwa food.
Day 2: First Gorilla Trekking and Nature Walk
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing by the ranger guide about the rules and safety guidelines for gorilla trekking. You will then walk through the forest in search of the gorillas. When you meet them, spend one full hour watching them as they feed, play, and move around. You can take as many photos as you like as long as your camera has no flash. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, enjoy a guided nature walk in the forest. This is a great chance to see birds, butterflies, trees, and small primates. It is also a peaceful time to experience the natural beauty of the park up close.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
After breakfast, return to the park headquarters for another gorilla trekking briefing. You will again be divided into groups of eight trekkers. This time, you will visit a different gorilla family, giving you the unique experience of meeting two different gorilla groups in Bwindi. The trek may take several hours through steep and slippery forest trails. When you find the gorillas, spend one hour observing them before returning to the headquarters and your lodge.
Day 4: Fly Back to Entebbe
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe. This marks the end of your 4-day Bwindi double trekking flying safari.
