This amazing safari specifically takes you to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park; a prime home for the mountain gorillas in Africa. The trip saves you from the long distance drive from Kampala to Bwindi, you will trek the gorillas twice, giving more spectacular chances of spotting the mighty apes of the forest.
Day 1: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park & Batwa Community Visit
Be picked at the airport or the hotel where you spent the previous night and transfer to Kajjansi airstrip. Use a chartered or scheduled flight to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. The flight takes about 1:30 hours, on arrival at Kihihi airstrip, be transferred to the lodge for checking in, refreshments and lunch. In the afternoon after lunch visit the Batwa community to have a cultural encounter with the Batwa forest people. The visit gives you outstanding opportunities to see how the forest pygmies used to carry on their normal lives while in the forest before they were resettled outside the park. You will enjoy the traditional performances and the Batwa cuisines.
Day 2: First Gorilla Trekking & Nature Walk
After an early breakfast, set off to the park headquarters for a simple orientation from the park ranger about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. You will walk through the tropical forest in search of the gorillas, and on meeting them, you have one full hour of watching them carry on their daily lives and taking several pictures as you want. When the one hour elapses you will slope back to the headquarters and back to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, have a nature walk in the forest just to get so close to the tiniest insights of nature. For bird lovers, this is a great opportunity to spot several bird species, butterflies, trees and primate species.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
In the morning after breakfast, still go to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking briefing, be divided into groups of eight trekkers to visit a gorilla family per day. Still enter into the forest to search out the gorillas, this time looking for another gorilla family, giving you an experience of meeting two gorilla families in Bwindi, unlike the many travelers that trek once. After walking through the rugged terrain, slippery trails, meet the endangered apes in their natural habitats, watch them for an hour and slope back to the headquarters and to the lodge.
Day 4: Fly back to Entebbe
Early morning, have breakfast and fly back to Entebbe. That will be the end of your four days Bwindi double trekking flying safari.
