Detailed Program for this 10 days safari in Uganda

Day 1: Pickup and hotel transfer

On arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will meet our professional and hospitable tour guide at the airport who will lead you to a very comfortable vehicle to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Enjoy the morning breakfast at the lodge and head to Murchison falls national park. This journey exposes you to the green plantations along the road. The first stop will be at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola district for rhino tracking. This is the only place where you can track the rhinos in Uganda. You will follow these huge land mammals in their natural habitats. This is one of the big game animals with the four that you will find in Murchison falls national park. From here drive to Masindi town for lunch and then drive to the park, arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Game Drive and Launch cruise in Murchison falls

The flickering sunrise will raise you up to a very yummy early morning breakfast. Head for a game drive experience in Murchison falls national park. This is the second best game drive you will ever experience in Uganda after game drives in Kidepo valley national park. Being a home to over 75 mammal species, the game drive will expose you to various wildlife species including the big four, the leopards, lions, buffaloes, elephants, elands, oribis, waterbucks, warthogs and many other animals.

Later in the afternoon, head for a boat cruise launch were you will spot the park’s main tourist attraction, the Unique Murchison falls. These are arguably the world’s most powerful waterfalls and the strongest point on River Nile. Be guaranteed of sighting the Nile crocodiles, hippos and other animals at the river banks who come around drinking water in the afternoon.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale forest national park

You will have full day drive from Murchison falls national park to Kibale forest national park. A lunch stopover will be in Hoima legendary town. Drive past the beautiful lush along the highway. Arrival will be in the evening for checking in, dinner and overnight. Primate Lodge for luxury.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi wetland Safari

Spending the night in primate lodge, the chimp call at dawn arousing your urge for chimpanzee tracking even before leaving your comfortable bed. Immediately after breakfast, set out for chimpanzee tracking to see the behaviors of these primates, to see the cheeky chimps, amazing melody of their sounds, the buttress drumming, and the feeding. This will leave you amazed. You will walk through the forest looking out for these amazing features, and the experience is simply breathtaking.

Having had a palatable lunch, now head to Bigodi wetland for a nature walk that brings very close to even the smallest insights of nature. Nothing feels better than walking on foot through the beautiful wetland on rhythms of the sweet sounds of birds. You will see several primate and bird species.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Waking up will be at your inconvenience for the comfortable drive to Queen Elizabeth national park. The journey gives you spectacular views of the Rwenzori Mountains of the moon and the extensive savanna that lies along the highway. You will have different stopovers at places of interest for pictures. Arriving will be in the afternoon for lunch and relaxation.

Day 7: Game drive and boat cruise on Kazinga channel

Wake up early, have breakfast and go out for a morning game drive starting with the Kasenyi plains. Kasenyi plains are excellent for sighting lion and large herds of Uganda kobs. The Mweya peninsula offers excellent game drives with magnificent views across the water to the Rwenzori Mountains. Mweya is one of the best places to look for leopard, which live in the dense, scrubby thickets.

Return to the lodge for lunch and go for an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. The 40km long and 8m deep Channel is home to one of the greatest concentration of hippo in Africa and herds of elephant, buffalo and other animals come to drink at the water’s edge. The channel is a magnet for water birds, with great flocks of pelicans; African fish Eagle, Spoon bills and others birds on the shore.

Day 8: Head to Bwindi national park for Gorilla Trekking

Upon having an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Bwindi impenetrable national park passing via the renowned ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park. Here, you will spot a new wonder (the tree climbing Lions). On this day you will have en-route lunch because arriving at the lodge in Bwindi will be in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking and cultural encounter

Immediately after a morning breakfast. You will report to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking briefing by the Uganda Wildlife Authority park ranger guides. They will guide you on the dos and don’ts of Gorilla trekking before heading for the trekking activities. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi takes 4-8 hours depending on the movement of the Gorillas. Upon finding these mighty apes in the forest, spend one hour in their presence watching them and taking memory pictures.

In the afternoon you will have an encounter with the Batwa pygmies for the real feel of African culture. You will enjoy the cultural performances showing you how these forest people used to hunt and gather fruits. Tasting the local cuisines is a guarantee except to the ones who don’t wish to.

Day 10: Transfer to Entebbe

Enjoy a morning breakfast in your Hotel and head for Entebbe for your flight back.
