Detailed 10-Day Uganda Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Pickup & Hotel Transfer

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by our professional and friendly tour guide. He will brief you about the safari and transfer you to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, begin your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola for rhino tracking. This is the only place in Uganda where rhinos can be seen in their natural environment. After tracking, continue to Masindi town for lunch, then proceed to the park. You will arrive in the evening, check in at your lodge, have dinner, and rest for the night.

Day 3: Game Drive & Boat Cruise in Murchison Falls National Park

Start the day with an early breakfast and head out for a morning game drive. Murchison Falls National Park is home to over 75 mammal species, including elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, and oribis. You will also see many bird species.

In the afternoon, go for a boat cruise along the Nile to see the powerful Murchison Falls, where the river squeezes through a narrow gorge before plunging down. You will spot hippos, crocodiles, and many animals along the riverbanks. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, begin your drive to Kibale Forest National Park. Enjoy scenic views of the countryside and have lunch in Hoima. Continue to the park, arriving in the evening. Check in at your lodge, have dinner, and relax.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Wetland Walk

After breakfast, go to the park headquarters for a short briefing about chimpanzee trekking. Your ranger guide will take you through the forest in search of the chimps. Once you find them, spend an hour watching them feed, play, and move through the trees. You can take photos as long as your camera has no flash.

After lunch, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a nature walk. The wetland is rich in birdlife and primates, including colobus monkeys and baboons. Enjoy the peaceful sounds of the forest before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy beautiful views of the Rwenzori Mountains and the open savanna along the way. Stop for photos at interesting spots before arriving at your lodge in the afternoon. Check in, have lunch, and relax for the evening.

Day 7: Game Drive and Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

After an early breakfast, go for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. This area is great for seeing lions and large herds of Uganda kobs. You may also spot elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and many bird species.

Return to your lodge for lunch, then head for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. The channel is known for having one of the largest concentrations of hippos in Africa. You will also see crocodiles, elephants, and buffaloes near the water, as well as many birds such as pelicans and African fish eagles. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, start your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Have lunch along the way and continue to Bwindi, arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Experience

After an early breakfast, go to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. The ranger will explain the rules and assign you to a group of eight trekkers. The trek can take 4 to 8 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. When you find them, spend one hour observing and taking pictures.

In the afternoon, visit the Batwa community to learn about their way of life as the first people of the forest. Enjoy traditional music, dance, and local food before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Transfer Back to Entebbe

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and start your drive back to Entebbe. You will have lunch along the way and continue to the airport for your departure flight.
