Detailed 3-Day Fly-In Gorilla Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Early in the morning, your driver-guide will pick you up from your luxury Uganda hotel. After a short briefing about the trip, you will transfer to Entebbe International Airport. You will fly to Kisoro or Kihihi at 7:00 a.m. with Aerolink and arrive around 8:30 a.m. Upon arrival, you will be driven to your lodge for refreshments and breakfast.

After lunch and some rest, enjoy a guided nature walk along the Buhoma Waterfall Trail. Walk through the bamboo zone, see many birds, butterflies, and different tree species. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight as you prepare for the next day.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

After an early breakfast, go to the park headquarters by 7:00 a.m. for a briefing by the ranger guide. You will learn the rules and tips for trekking before entering the forest to search for the mountain gorillas.

The trek takes you through thick forest paths that may be steep and slippery. When you finally find the gorillas, you will spend one full hour watching them feed, play, and interact. Seeing the Silverback protecting his family is always a special moment.

The trek can take between one and six hours, depending on where the gorillas are located. Some groups find them quickly, while others may walk longer.

Day 3: Fly Back to Entebbe

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe. This marks the end of your 3-day Bwindi fly-in gorilla safari in Uganda.
