Detailed 4-Day Fly-In Bwindi Gorillas & Lake Bunyonyi Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Bwindi and Batwa Community Visit
Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will be picked up from your lodge and driven to Kajjansi Airstrip. Take a chartered or scheduled flight to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Upon arrival at Kihihi Airstrip, you will be transferred to your lodge for check-in and relaxation.
In the afternoon, visit the Batwa community for a cultural experience with the forest people. The Batwa are known as the first inhabitants of Bwindi Forest. During the visit, you will learn about their former way of life, how they hunted and gathered fruits in the forest, and enjoy traditional performances. You may also join in the dances if you wish. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After an early breakfast, go to the park headquarters for a briefing by the ranger guide about the rules and guidelines for gorilla trekking. You will then enter the forest to begin your trek. The walk through the forest is filled with the sounds of birds and nature. When you meet the gorillas, you will spend one full hour with them, watching how they feed, play, and move around. Afterward, return to the park headquarters and then to your lodge for lunch.
Later in the afternoon, drive to Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s deepest lake and Africa’s second deepest lake after Lake Tanganyika. You will arrive in the evening and check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Zip Lining and Boat Cruise
After breakfast, enjoy a zip-lining experience across Lake Bunyonyi, a fun and exciting activity for adventurous travelers. After lunch, take a canoe ride on the lake to explore some of its 25 islands, including the famous Punishment Island where young girls who became pregnant before marriage were once left as punishment. In the evening, enjoy a relaxing sunset boat cruise before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Fly Back to Entebbe
After an early breakfast, drive to the airstrip and board your flight back to Entebbe. This marks the end of your 4-day Bwindi and Lake Bunyonyi safari.
