The triple trekking safari furnishes an opportunity to encounter three different gorilla families in Uganda, an experience that just a few travelers have experienced. This trip will specifically take you to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park, a prime home of mountain gorillas in Africa. The trip will also allow you meet the Batwa forest people, the first inhabitants of the forest.
Day 1: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Buhoma Sector) & Afternoon Batwa Tour
On pick up from the hotel where you spent the previous night or from the airport. Our knowledgeable guide will brief you about the trip as he transfers you to Kajjansi airstrip for your scheduled flight to Bwindi impenetrable national park; a prime home for mountain gorillas in Africa. On arrival at the park, check in and have some refreshments. In the evening you will have a simple nature walk in the forest just for sights of beautifu birds, butterflies and tree species.
Day 2: First Gorilla Trekking Encounter & Transfer to Nkuringo Sector
Early morning have breakfast and head to the park headquarters for orientation from the park guides. From here start the trek into the impenetrable forest on the search for the endangered mountain gorillas.
On the hunt you will meet numerous primate species like the white and black colobus monkeys, baboons and others plus various birds, butterflies and reptile species. Spend an hour with the gorilla family, watching them play from one tree branch to another and carry on their way of life. After trekking gorillas, you will transfer to Nkuringo sector of Bwindi.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Rushaga Sector
This day, have the same process, have an early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a simple briefing. Still be divided into groups of eight trekkers to visit a gorilla family per day and hit the forest for the search. You will still spend one hour with the apes, though this time, it will be a different gorilla family. After trekking, transfer to your lodge in Rushaga sector for lunch and relaxation.
Day 4: Third gorilla trekking & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Like the previous days, wake up early in the morning for a delicious breakfast and go for gorilla trekking. On returning to the lodge, have lunch and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi; Africa’s second deepest lake with more than 25 small islands. The journey gives you stunning views of the Virunga ranges and the green lush alongside the highway.
In the evening, you will go for an evening boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi. The canoe allows you explore most of the 25 islands that the lake encompasses, including the punishment island where girls who used to become pregnant before marriage were isolated as a punishment.
Day 5: Fly back to Entebbe
After breakfast in the morning, you will transfer to Kisoro Airstrip to catch your domestic flight back to Entebbe to mark the end of your safari.
