Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi and Hotel Transfer
Be welcomed by our travel guide at Nairobi International Airport.
He will brief you about the entire trip and transfer you to your accommodation in Nairobi.
Depending on the time of arrival, you will drive through Kenya’s capital at your leisure, making several stopovers at places of interest.
At the lodge, you will check in, have dinner, and stay overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Maasai Mara and Visit Maasai People
Early morning after breakfast, travel to Kenya’s Maasai Mara.
This popular African destination is known for its expansive savanna grasslands, which are home to the big five animals and over 100 wildlife species.
You will arrive in the afternoon for lunch.
In the evening, you will visit the Maasai people and enjoy an evening rich in African cultural experiences, with traditional performances and local cuisines.
You will return to the lodge late in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Full Day Game Drive
On this day, you will have a full day game drive in the Maasai Mara.
The game drives expose you to countless wildlife species, including the big five, within just a few minutes of the drive.
You will spot lions, buffalos, elephants, leopards, rhinos, and other species such as zebras, giraffes, gazelles, warthogs, antelopes, wildebeests, and many others.
Lunch will be served in the wild among the animals.
If you are lucky, you will experience the great wildebeest migration, watching millions of animals migrating in search of pasture and water is simply unforgettable.
Day 4: Fly to Kigali and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Today, you will fly to Rwanda’s capital, Kigali.
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will travel to Volcanoes National Park, home to more than 400 mountain gorillas.
The journey to the park offers stunning views of the Virunga ranges.
You will arrive at the lodge in the evening to check in, have dinner, and stay overnight.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking and Gorilla Guardians Village Visit
Early in the morning at 7 am, head to the park headquarters for a briefing from the local tour guide.
You will be divided into groups of eight to trek one gorilla family.
Trekking these endangered apes involves walking into the jungle to find the mighty apes in their natural setting.
Hiking through the dense forest, holding onto tree branches for support, and paving your way through the undergrowth with your hands or a stick is an exhilarating experience.
Upon encountering them, spend a magical hour with the gorillas, observing their daily lives and watching the juveniles swinging from one tree branch to another.
In the afternoon, after lunch and relaxation, you will visit the Gorilla Guardians Village.
This center exhibits all three ethnic groups of Rwanda: the Twa, Hutu, and Tutsi.
Enjoy traditional performances, local dishes, and personal interactions with the local people.
Day 6: Travel Back to Kigali and Departure
In the morning, after breakfast, travel back to Kigali to catch your flight home.
