Engagi Lodge Uganda – Eco-Luxury Stay in Buhoma Sector Bwindi

Engagi Lodge is an eco-friendly property built using locally sourced materials such as volcanic rocks, eucalyptus wood, and banana fibers. It is located in the Buhoma sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas.
These gentle giants attract many nature lovers, and every visitor must have a gorilla trekking permit issued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority. The permit serves as proof of payment and must be presented to the staff at the front desk upon arrival.

Other activities such as nature walks, birdwatching, and community visits can be arranged and paid for at the lodge. However, gorilla trekking permits must be booked and paid for in advance to avoid long queues or missing out, as the number of permits issued per day is limited.
Guests can also take part in the gorilla habituation experience, which allows more time with the gorillas and helps them get used to human presence. During this activity, you are accompanied by researchers, park guides, and armed rangers for safety.
The lodge is set near the Munyanga River, a peaceful spot that attracts many bird species. Guests can enjoy their breakfast or lunch while listening to the sweet sounds of birds in the trees. After a meal, the calm atmosphere might tempt you to take a nap in one of the eight ensuite chalets.
Each chalet is designed for comfort and includes either double or twin beds, private bathrooms with hot and cold water, flushing toilets, mosquito nets, a private veranda, clean beddings, bedside lamps, toiletries, and free Wi-Fi.
The main building features a fully stocked bar serving both hot and cold drinks, a comfortable lounge for relaxation, and a dining area where delicious meals are served on time. The professional chefs prepare a variety of dishes using fresh ingredients, offering guests both local and international choices.
Electricity is provided through solar power with a standby generator to ensure a constant power supply throughout the year. Guests can charge their devices anytime. Safe parking with 24-hour security is available for all vehicles, and laundry services are also offered for added convenience.
Engagi Lodge can be reached by both road and air transport, making it an easy and rewarding destination for visitors exploring Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
