Day 1: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be welcomed by your experienced driver-guide or picked up from your hotel if you spent the previous night there. After a short briefing about the trip, you will transfer to Entebbe Airstrip for your chartered or scheduled flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On arrival, check in at your luxurious Uganda lodge and relax as you prepare for the next day.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Visit

After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi can take between one and six hours, depending on where the gorillas are located. Once you find them, you will spend one hour observing them as they feed, play, and interact. You are free to take photos as long as your camera has no flash.

In the afternoon, visit the Batwa community to meet the forest people who once lived in Bwindi. You will enjoy their traditional dances, taste local food, and learn about their way of life before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Drive to Kibale Forest National Park

After an early breakfast, begin your drive to Kibale Forest National Park, known as the primate capital of the world. The park is home to over 1,000 primates, including chimpanzees, baboons, and many monkey species. Enjoy an en-route lunch before arriving at your lodge in the evening. Check in, have dinner, and rest for the night.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Swamp Walk

After breakfast, go to the park headquarters for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking. The trek may take one to several hours, depending on the location of the chimpanzees. Walking through the forest is exciting as you may also spot monkeys, birds, and butterflies. When you find the chimpanzees, spend one hour watching them as they swing through the trees and interact with each other.

In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a community walk. You will meet local people, learn about their daily lives, and have a chance to buy handmade crafts to take home. This visit gives you a glimpse into the life of the local community around Kibale.

Day 5: Fly Back to Entebbe

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe. On arrival, your driver will take you either to the airport for your departure or to a hotel of your choice. This marks the end of your 5-day Uganda gorillas and chimpanzees safari.
